Emmanuel MacDonald is a gymnast at New Era gymnastics in Hamden.
He recently competed in the 2018 CT State Championships held in Suffield.
The boys came in first as a team and Emmanuel placed second overall.
There were six events.
He placed first on the floor, second on high bar, vault, p-bars, high pommel horse, and third on rings.

Valley school officials voiced support for student-led school “walkouts” planned for Wednesday honoring the victims of last month’s school shooting in Florida.
Seventeen people were killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. Feb. 14.
