New Scoreboard At Derby Little League Has History

Of course Jamie Cohen doesn’t remember who the home run hitters were back when he played Derby Little League in the 1950s.

“We were 8 years old!” he told a reporter, incredulously.

But he does remember learning a little something about community service in Derby through his father’s involvement in Derby Little League.

Police: Man Triggers Police Chase To Bridgeport

An 18-year-old man led police on a chase down Route 8 into Bridgeport Friday morning.

Derby police received a 911 call at 9 a.m. reporting that someone was threatening a family member with a knife.

Birmingham Health Center In Derby To Close

FILE PHOTO Birmingham Health Center, a nursing home at 210 Chatfield St. in Derby, will be closing its doors, according to Derby officials and federal bankruptcy court records.

Spectrum Health Care, LLC, the nursing home’s owner, has been in bankruptcy court since October 2016.
