The Ansonia Public Works Department is joining hundreds of Public Works Departments from across New England to collect food and household goods to support our local community food bank needs.
Our Fill-A-Public Works Truck Food Drive will be occurring during National Public Works Week, from May 21-26, 2018 and will support the Kathleen C.B. Samela Memorial Food Pantry.

The Red Cross will host a blood drive in the community room of the Avalon Shelton, 185 Canal St. W., April 18.
The blood drive is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On March 27, the Ansonia Democratic Town Committee unanimously elected two new officers to lead the organization, 2017 Democratic candidate for Mayor Tarek Raslan as Chairman, and 2017 Third Ward Alderman candidate Gary Farrar Jr. as Vice Chairman. Jo-Lynn Flaherty and James Hubbard were both re-elected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
Tarek Raslan and Gary Farrar Jr. praised David Knapp and Kevin Blake for leading the Committee over the last several years. Despite municipal election losses, the committee is strong financially and committee membership is on the rise. David and Kevin will continue to be champions of our mission.

Walnut Hill Community Church, located at the corner of Smith and Ninth Streets in Derby for a fourth year is hosting the Derby’s B.E.S.T. 5k Run / Mile Walk.
The Derby’s B.E.S.T. 5k Run / Walk will take place on Saturday, May 5 on the Derby Greenway starting on the industrial park access road behind BJs on 20 Division St.
