Shelton Police Charge Ansonia Man With Burglaries

An Ansonia man has been charged with committing two burglaries in Shelton last year.

In a prepared statement, Detective Christopher Nugent said 28-year-old Andre Genest was arrested Wednesday at Superior Court in Derby, where he was due to appear for another matter.

Police: Woman Pulled Knife During Walmart Theft

Shelton police charged a Bridgeport woman with brandishing a knife while allegedly stealing $800 in goods from Walmart Sunday (Dec. 17).

The woman allegedly fled but was caught with several other suspects after being spotted by a patrol officer on Route 8.

Police: Man Caught Breaking Into Shelton Building

A Stratford man is due in court after police said a detective caught him breaking into a Bridgeport Avenue building.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango, the arrest of 47-year-old Mark Lindsey stemmed from a joint investigation with Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull, and Shelton police departments.

Ansonia Winter Parking Rules Begin Dec. 1

Winter Parking Regulations will be in effect from December 1, 2017 thru March 31, 2018. There shall be in the city a Twenty Four hour (24) a day, seven (7) days a week, parking ban on all city streets and highways. The purpose is to allow snow equipment to remove snow and ice as quickly as possible from all city streets and highways, with the following exceptions:

Monroe Man Thrown Into Housatonic Now Out Of Hospital

A 30-year-old Monroe man is out of the hospital after being thrown into the Housatonic River last week.

The man was involved in an altercation on the Derby-Shelton Bridge about 12:50 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 23) before being thrown into the water below, police said in prepared statement.

A suspected heroin dealer is behind bars after police raided his apartment on Dwight Street Thursday afternoon.

Clayton Wilson, 24, was the target of a drug investigation carried out by the Ansonia Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit, according to a prepared statement from police.

Shelton ‘Cheesecake King’ Charged With Sexual Assault

An award-winning Shelton cheesecake chef was charged Thursday with sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately.

According to a prepared statement from Detective Chris Nugent, police began an investigation in March 2016 after three employee’s of Dee’s Kitchen on Howe Avenue complained to police that 58-year-old Brian Stockbridge “was sexually harassing them and touched them inappropriately on several occasions.”

Injured Man Found At Ansonia Crime Scene

Ansonia police found a seriously injured man at the scene of an attempted burglary in the city’s north end.

According to a prepared statement from Lt. Patrick Lynch, about 3:26 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 17) a resident of the area called police to report that someone was trying to break into the Ansonia Mini-Mart at 147 N. Main St.
