In March, while basketball teams are fighting for the chance to be crowned champions, patients battling cancer and other illnesses are fighting for their lives. The American Red Cross is asking blood donors to help patients rebound by making a lifesaving donation this spring.

Shelton High School recognized those students who had perfect attendance for quarter 2. Shelton High School’s perfect attendance policy mandates that a student is present in school and in every class every day, which includes being on time to school and every class every day (no tardies) and in school for a complete day (no early dismissals).

In December 2016 Faith Tremblay, now a 15-year-old freshman at Shelton High School, spent 14 days as a patient at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.
During that time we saw firsthand how much the Child Life program does for every child in the hospital, even more so around the holidays.

Naugatuck Valley residents will have the opportunity to provide input to a major transportation planning study being conducted by the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) in March and early April 2018 via charrettes and an online survey. The study is assessing alternative transit modes within the Route 8 / Waterbury branch rail line corridors and developing transit-supportive land use plans in and around rail stations and transit hubs located between Naugatuck and Shelton.
