Seymour Student Says, ‘Come See Annie Jr!’

The Seymour High School students are in production of Annie Jr. which will debut on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m., followed by a second showing on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Seymour High School auditorium.

The director, teacher Brandt Schneider, is excited that there are so many students involved in the show.

He encourages students, staff and community to come out and support Seymour High School as we revive the drama program.

These students genuinely want to put on a great performance for their families, their peers, and their community as a whole.

Here are some photos:

Marion Matovu, says her favorite thing about being in the production is being one of the orphans” because it gets her out of her shell and into such an exciting role.

These kids intently listen to their director and assistant director, Mrs. Stephanie Shelinsky and work closely with the artistic director Darlene Keeffe, sound engineer Nate Dobas, and construction manager, Joseph Perrucci.

It’s not only choir students who are involved, but the art, construction, and DECA students who are as well. Working on Annie Jr. has made this cast and crew a family as they work endless hours to achieve their goal of production.

Noelle Milia, who will be playing Lily St. Regis, proudly states, Practice makes perfect and so we practice and practice a lot.”

The students have learned so much about theater and production and love being in Annie Jr.

Besides learning how to be the character through songs and acting, students learn skills they can use throughout their lives and also in other performances.

Cyera Williams, who plays Miss Agatha Hannigan, says she has learned that It takes a lot of responsibility and hard work to make this production happen.” Christian Mutapcic, who plays Rooster”

Hannigan, says he is learning a lot about performing” as well as about time management. For these students, with performing comes confidence. With responsibility and hard work comes success.

This is the second show Seymour High School has performed this calendar year.

The production of Seussical in March received four HALO nominations and one HALO award.

These courageous and talented students at Seymour High School love Annie and they want to share their love for it with you.

Come see Annie at Seymour High School on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.
