A fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club and the Valley Arts Council will be held at Spector Furniture in Ansonia Friday (Oct. 14).
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a free reception from 5 to 9 p.m.
The event — called “An Artful Affair” — will include an art show and sale, door prizes, refreshments, caricatures and marker tattoos.
Artists from the Valley Arts Council will have their pieces on display. These items will be available for purchase with a generous percent of their sales being donated.
Several of the artists will have works in progress that you can enjoy seeing come to life. Frank McLaughlin, 50 year veteran of the comic book industry will be on hand to make caricatures and marker tattoos (for a nominal fee).
Several members of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club will also have their work on display. The public is urged to come examine the works and vote on their favorite. This is very important to the children who will have their hard work on display. The winners will be entered nationally.
For artists information please contact Steve DiRienzo of The Valley Arts Council at 203-516-0822. For event information please contact Robin 203-734-2525.
Donations in any amount will be gladly accepted. Please make checks to The Valley Arts Council and mail them to The Valley Arts Council, 37 Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT 06418 – Attention: An Artful Affair. Donations will be shared by both organizations.
Spector Furniture is located at 385 Main St. in Ansonia.
