Ansonia police arrested a 48-year-old Milford woman Thursday after her estranged husband filed a complaint alleging she put feces on his toothbrush.
Leslie Laing now faces a charge of violating a protective order in connection with the incident. She posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Milford Friday.
According to a prepared statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch, the arrest “was the result of an investigation after a complaint by Laing’s estranged husband that she tampered with his personal property.”
“Laing had been the subject of a protective order from a previous domestic violence arrest involving her estranged husband,” Lynch said. “The investigation revealed that while Laing was retrieving property from her soon to be ex-husband’s home she put what appeared to be feces on his toothbrush.”
“The investigating officer seized the toothbrush and obtained a DNA sample from Laing,” Lynch said. “Laing’s DNA sample and the toothbrush were sent to the state lab where testing of the suspected feces showed a match to Laing’s DNA sample.”
