Ansonia Receives $400,000 For Housing Rehab

The City of Ansonia will receive a $400,000 grant from the state to renovate 10 units of low- and moderate-income housing, Gov. Dannel Malloy announced Thursday (July 30).

Upgrades are expected to include heating systems repairs, window replacement, lead paint removal, septic system repairs and energy efficiency upgrades for low and moderate income families,” according to a press release from Malloy’s office.

Ansonia’s $400,000 grant is part of $12 million disbursed to 22 municipalities in the state.

The funds come from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant program administered by the state’s Department of Housing.

The city received a $400,000 grant in July 2013 as part of the same program.
