The Ansonia Republican Town Committee (“ARTC”) is proud to announce a newly elected executive board, which represents a new era of the Republican Party. Last Thursday night (March 29), Ansonia Republicans brought to the table a diverse group of hard-working, energized individuals to lead the local party towards continued success.

The biggest change of the night came with the election of 19-year old David Papcin to become the new ARTC Chairman. With his election, David is now the Youngest GOP Chairman in the history of Connecticut and Youngest in the Country according to available records. His hard work, diligence, and desire to bring new life to the Republican Party established an energized base who voted him in by a 63 percent margin.

Despite my age, I hope this sends a message that the Republican Party is inclusive and progressive, and that everyone is encouraged to attend, be active, and lead the charge for change,” Papcin said.

Alongside Papcin is Lorie Vaccaro, who remained on the ARTC as Vice-Chairman, Anna Andretta as Treasurer, and Domenico Filippone as Clerk. The latter two also are classified as millennials,” and represent the value that young people can bring to the Republican Party. Filippone, with his election to the Board of Alderman in 2017, became Ansonia’s historically youngest Alderman.

With the election of Mayor David Cassetti in 2013, Ansonia has since seen a resurgence in its economy, infrastructure, and community. Cassetti raised Papcin’s nomination Thursday night.

Tonight represents change, which is what the Republican Party has always delivered. We’re all about getting things done and delivering for the people. It’s about making sure the taxpayer’s tax dollars are being spent wisely. Ansonia residents are hard working people that demand common-sense solutions from their government. Our new party leaders will serve them well,” Cassetti said.

Moving forward under the new executive board, the Ansonia Republican Town Committee will remain vocal and advocate for low taxes, a maintained infrastructure, responsible investment in education, and accountability in government. Ansonia Republicans will be working hard to ensure that Alderman Joseph Jaumann is elected to be the next State Representative for the 104th District and that State Senator George Logan is re-elected to serve the 17th District.

Above all, the Town Committee’s new leadership is committed to supporting Mayor Cassetti and the Republican Team that has recharged and reinvigorated the great City of Ansonia!
