Ansonia Woman Charged With Fondling Teenager In Seymour

Seymour police arrested an Ansonia woman Tuesday afternoon after they said she inappropriately touched and fondled” a teenager at the Seymour Skate Park and made sexual comments to other juveniles.

Jennifer Johnson, 37, of Fitzpatrick Road, was charged with five counts of risk of injury to a minor, as well as single counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, attempted second-degree sexual assault, and second-degree breach of peace.

She was arraigned Wednesday at Superior Court in Derby, where a judge set her bond at $25,000 and continued the case to Oct. 22.

According to a prepared statement from Seymour Police Deputy Chief Paul Satkowski, officers were dispatched about 4 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a woman trying to lure kids into a vehicle near the skate park off Pine Street.

Officers arrived to find Johnson sitting in a vehicle with a girl, who appeared nervous was removed from the vehicle by investigating officers.”

Satkowski said Johnson had arrived at the skate park looking to have a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old male.”

When the male could not be located Johnson began making inappropriate comments and innuendos that were sexual in nature to several teenagers who were in the vicinity of the Skate Park,” Satkowski’s statement said. Johnson further fondled one of the teenagers in an aggressive and sexual manner on sensitive areas’ of the teenager’s body. Johnson continued to act in an irrational manner at which time police were summoned to investigate.”

Satkowski said cops took Johnson into custody without incident, and none of the teens were injured.

As of Thursday Johnson was being held at York Correctional Institution in Niantic, according to Correction Department records.
