An assault victim was found Friday (July 24) morning at Nolan Field in Ansonia, but police are keeping details of the assault close to the vest.
The man was taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital on a “trauma alert,” an indication of serious injuries.
The man wasn’t responsive when an officer came upon him, according to emergency radio transmissions.
He was found at 1:40 a.m.
His current medical condition is not known.
Police Chief Kevin Hale said details of the incident are being kept under wraps so the investigation won’t be compromised.
An officer came upon the victim while on “routine patrol,” the chief said.
Police do not believe the assault happened at Nolan Field, but would not elaborate.
“The investigation is ongoing,” Hale said in an email. “There will be no further information released at this time.”
