Audition For The Valley Shakespeare Festival March 11

VALLEY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL will hold local CT AEA and Non AEA auditions on Saturday, March 11th from 11AM TO 3:30 PM at Shelton’s Community Center, Craft Room #5, for its upcoming productions of Thornton Wilder’s OUR TOWN, William Shakespeare’s THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, and Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT.

Candidates must prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues; if skilled on a musical instrument, please bring it and have a sixteen bar selection ready to play. OUR TOWN is a one-time performance” community event which will be performed on the evening of Tuesday, May 2nd beginning at 7PM in three historic Valley sites. Rehearsals will run April 24th through May 1st, weekday evenings 7 – 10PM, weekends 9AM‑3:30pm at the Shelton Community Center.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS is a non-Equity touring production which will run from April 24th-May 12th with daytime performances. Rehearsals will be held at Shelton Community Center, April 17th – April 22nd, 9AM-5PM.

TWELFTH NIGHT is a free outdoor production in Shelton’s Veterans Memorial-Riverwalk Park, open to the general public. Four performances run Thursday, July 13th – Sunday, July 16th. Rehearsals begin June 26th and continue through July 8th, Mon-Sat, 9AM-5PM in Shelton’s Community Center; Tech rehearsal at venue July 11th- July 12th.

AEA SPT Tier II contract for Equity members; Equity points offered for non-AEA performers. 

VALLEY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL s 2017 season begins with the latest edition in its Shakespeare in the Bar series, The Merry Wives of Windsor” on Wednesday and Thursday, March 1st and 2nd at Caloroso Bar and Eatery, 100 Center Street in Shelton.

Admission is $20 in advance for table seat, $15 for bar seats and $25 at the door. Tickets are on sale now at www.vsfestival.org, VSFs Facebook page and by calling 203 – 513-9446.
