A 24-year-old Beacon Falls man died in a crash on Route 8 south Saturday night in Naugatuck.
William J. Baer Jr. was killed after the vehicle he was driving was struck head-on by a van going the wrong way on Route 8, Naugatuck Patch reports.
Two other people were sent to the hospital as a result of the wreck, which tied up traffic Saturday for hours.
The crash, which happened near exit 27, remains under investigation, Naugatuck Patch reports.
The Naugatuck wreck happened at roughly the same time as a head-on crash in Sodom Lane in Derby Saturday.
That crash sent five people — three adults and two children — to Yale-New Haven Hospital on a “trauma alert.”
That crash also remains under investigation.
