BMX Riders Perform For Seymour Students

CONTRIBUTEDOn May 20 Bungay Elementary School’s 4th and 5th grade students got a special visit from the Dialed Action Sports Team, a professional action sports BMX bike stunt team based out of New Jersey.

The team was there to deliver a message that drugs aren’t cool, and making healthy choices will help make you achieve your goals and dreams.

Seymour Schools Director of Security Rich Kearns coordinated the program as part of his drug prevention efforts in the schools. The program focused on how students can stay drug free, make healthy choices and touched on bike safety.

Kearns captured the students attention with the teams action sports aerial stunts while Team Owner Brian Cunningham delivered the drug prevention message.

Afterwards, X‑Games gold medalist Jeremiah Smith from Ohio joined New Hampshire’s BMX and Dew Tour star Zane Bradley and Connecticut’s Godfather of BMX” Hector Restrepo performed a high flying BMX aerial stunt show.

The action sports athletes who travel around the country brought in ramps and jumps to fly through the air doing flips and tricks! The program was presented by BMX veteran and Dialed Action Sports Team owner Brian Cunningham.

Several lucky students won free BMX Freestyle bikes, while several other lucky students won autographed bike helmets and t‑shirts as part of a free raffle that Kearns held for the students.
