A Bridgeport man died after a tow motor he was operating while delivering wood in Ansonia overturned on North Prospect Street Extension.

According to a prepared statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch, the victim was 47-year-old Mazhar Khan.

Lynch said the accident occurred about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, while Khan, who was working for a subcontractor of Lowe’s Home Improvement, was making a delivery.

Police and Ansonia Rescue Medical Services gave medical aid to Khan at the scene before ARMS transported him to Griffin Hospital for evaluation, Lynch said.

Khan was then transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Lynch said Khan died Sunday (Aug. 20) as a result of the accident.

The incident is now being investigated by Ansonia police and OSHA, Lynch said.
