Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti appeared Sunday on “Face the State,” a weekly public affairs show hosted by WFSB’s Dennis House.
Cassetti appeared alongside New Canaan First Selectman Robert Mallozzi, and spoke with House on a number of topics.

The mayor contrasted the recent news of General Electric moving its headquarters to Boston with his own efforts to keep the Farrel Corp. in the city of Ansonia.
Cassetti also spoke about regionalization within the Valley, saying that he tried unsuccessfully to partner with Derby to treat sewage, but is in talks with Seymour officials about the possible consolidation of offices like the land use department.
At the end of the appearance, House asked the two Republican elected officials who they’d like to see run for their party’s nomination for governor in 2018. Cassetti’s top picks are MSNBC personality and former lawmaker Joe Scarborough, and Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst.
