Update: Child Struck By Car In Derby

Update: Derby police confirmed Monday morning a child was struck by a car at 8:22 p.m. Saturday.

The 8‑year-old boy was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

It happened on Elizabeth Street, police said in an e‑mail.

A child was struck by a car Saturday night in downtown Derby, according to Valley Indy Facebook readers.

Information on the child’s condition was not available over the weekend. 

Derby Storm Ambulance confirmed a child was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital Saturday but did not comment on the child’s condition.

Readers on the Valley Indy Facebook page said the child ran into the street from behind a vendor’s truck during the Haunted Lantern Tour.
