On Tuesday the director of Crosby Commons, a retirement community in Shelton, extended a lunch invitation to Shelton police officers as an appreciation for the work they do.
A dozen Shelton officers were greeted with warm smiles and inspirational life stories from residents of the retirement home. 
Shelton officers then enjoyed a delicious meal with several residents of the home.
The Shelton Police Department wants to thank Crosby Commons for the experience and looks forward to visiting the residents again.
