The organizers of the Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade have a website packed with information about the upcoming event.
According to DerbySheltonParade.org, a memorial service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28 at Shelton High School.
“There is a special part of the ceremony during which the name of each Veteran who has passed during the year is honored and a red carnation is presented to their family,” according to organizers.
Then, the Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to start 9 a.m., Monday, May 29.
The parade begins at Howe and White Wharf streets in Shelton, and ends at Cottage and Elizabeth streets in Derby.

As you all know, the parade is starting in Shelton this year and will be stepping off promptly at 9 a.m. (rain or shine).
Units should arrive between 8 a.m. and 8:15 am
Drop off will be in the MUNICIPAL LOT Which is located behind the FARMER’S MARKET.
Remember — Howe Avenue in Shelton will be blocked off from Center Street to Wharf Street at approximately 7 a.m.
