Derby Bridge Dog Gets New Owner

The puny pooch almost thrown off a bridge in Derby has a new home at an undisclosed location, the New Haven Register reports.

The Register went all Dick Cheney on the dog’s new location due to the nature of the alleged crime.

The one-year-old Jack Russell terrier was roughed up by his owner, Alexander Rosario, 32, of Bridgeport, according to Derby police.

Rosario was charged with animal cruelty after allegedly trying to throw the dog off the Hawkins Street bridge onto Route 8 below.

Police arrived and found the dog dangling from a tall chain-link fence on the bridge.

Woodbridge Animal Control, which covers Derby animal calls, took the dog to a vet, who gave it a clean bill of health.
