Derby Man Charged With Driving Under The Influence

A 39-year-old Derby resident was charged with drunken driving after allegedly driving the wrong way on Route 15, state police said.

Troopers received several 911 calls about 2:15 a.m. Nov. 20 about a vehicle going north in the southbound lanes of the highway near exit 56.

Troopers said they spotted Flavio Bueno and pulled him over near exit 58. Bueno would not take a field sobriety test, police said.

Troopers said his breath smelled of alcohol.

In addition to drunken driving, Bueno was charged with driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and operating without a license.

The video shows the arrested traveling in the wrong direction (in the left lane) on Route 15. This is a reminder that wrong-way drivers often think the left lane is the right lane/correct lane for their direction of travel,” troopers said in a prepared statement.
