A Bridgeport woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly hitting a Derby police officer with her car and then leaving the scene of a traffic stop.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. Sept. 27.
Police received a report of an erratic driver on Roosevelt Drive. Derby police stopped the vehicle near North Avenue.
However, the driver — identified by police as Marybeth Minto, 54 — allegedly yelled at police, then took off, striking Derby Police Canine Officer Jordan Gochros as she pulled away.
Gochros was checked out at a hospital. His injuries were described as minor.
Minto allegedly led Derby police on a slow-speed pursuit from Roosevelt Drive onto Route 8 south toward Bridgeport.
State troopers threw “stop sticks” onto the highway to stop her vehicle near exit 5.
Minto is charged with reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, assaulting a police officer and interfering.
She was arraigned Monday and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Derby Oct. 9.
