Derby Pop Warner Cheerleaders Return Home with National Runner-Up Titles

The Derby Junior Pee Wee and Pee Wee Cheerleaders, Coaches and Parents returned to chilly and rainy Connecticut from warm and sunny Disney World with a little extra carry on: National-Runner Up Titles.

Both teams placed 2nd in their respective divisions:

  • Junior Pee Wee – Large Novice
  • Pee Wee – Medium Intermediate

The Pop Warner National Championships are the largest combined youth football and cheer championships in the world. Pop Warner has over 425,000 participants in 44 states and to qualify for the national championships teams must win at their local, regional qualifier and regional level for a chance to compete on the national stage.

The national championship took place in early December in Florida.

Derby represented the entire New England region in their cheer divisions and brought home silver medals.
