Crews from Bay Fireworks are at the Shelton Riverwalk and Derby Greenway setting up fireworks for tonight’s show.

Thousands of fireworks will be shot off between the two cities’ shows over the Housatonic River.

Workers have set of hundreds of mortars — or tubes held together in frames — where the fireworks will be shot out from.

Over the next couple of hours, they will stabilize the tubing, and drop firework shells into the tubes.

The show starts between 8:30 and 9 on the Derby side, and at 9 p.m. on the Shelton side.

PHOTO: Jodie MozdzerOxford will also have a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. at the Great Oak Middle School softball field, on Great Oak Road.
