First Female Detective Appointed In Seymour

The Seymour Police Department Monday appointed its first female detective in the department’s 82-year history.

The following information was posted to the Seymour Police Department’s Facebook page:

Today was a historic moment for the Seymour Police Department. 

This afternoon Officer Christa Ventura was promoted to the rank of Detective. 

Detective Ventura is the first female Officer in the 82 year history of the department to attain this rank. 

Congratulations and best of luck to Detective Ventura as she begins her new assignment on Friday January 05, 2018. 

It is truly a well deserved honor and proud moment for Detective Ventura and her family.”
