Letter Writer Says DiCenso Misstated The Record

I generally do not involve myself with political commentary, but I need to address the egregious prevarication in the current election.

Mr. (Carmen) DiCenso has questioned (Mayor Anita Dugatto’s) integrity and transparency in a letter published in the Valley Independent Sentinel.

Specifically addressed is the renovation of City Hall without the Board of Aldermen’s approval.

Research of the BOAs minutes of 31 March 2016 states Mr. DiCenso made the motion to approve the construction. This motion was seconded by (Alderman Joseph) DiMartino.

11. New Business

11.1. Move to approve the construction of security wall, installation of security door, and other improvements to the Derby City Hall as outlined in the March 18, 2016 letter from Town/City Clerk Marc J. Garofalo.

Motioned by Mr. DiCenso and seconded by Mr. DiMartino.

I would like to see political campaigns conducted with dignity and truthfulness. There is no need for invective against a political opponent.

Let’s rise above this trend Derby.
