Three people were evaluated by medics after a minivan crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Wakelee Avenue and Dwight Street Friday.

The one-car crashed happened at about 3:30 p.m. and closed Wakelee Avenue for about 40 minutes.

A flat-bed truck arrived on the scene at 4 p.m.

Details about the accident were not immediately available.

One person was taken away in a stretcher, but appeared conscious and was talking to Ansonia ambulance personnel. Two other people were up and walking, but were put in neck braces while getting checked out by EMS.

The minivan suffered extensive damage.
