A bus line that took people from Ansonia and Shelton to the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville has been canceled.
DATTCO, a transportation company that provided the buses, announced it was eliminating the lower Valley stops Jan. 30.
“They’re not coming to Ansonia or Shelton. The Valley run is gone,” said Rose Marie Spatafore of E-Z Travel on Kingston Drive.
She had lobbied DATTCO for several years to provide the bus service from Ansonia to Uncasville.
The bus line’s Ansonia stop outside Spatafore’s business launched in August 2010 with much hoopla, but it just never caught on locally, Spatafore said.
“We worked for years to get it,” Spatafore said. “People always asked for it, but then they didn’t support it.”
DATTCO recently canceled a number of other of bus lines that brought people to the casino. The nearest bus stops are now in Bridgeport and Milford.

I would have used the service had I known about it. AND if the price was right. It wasn’t widely known so of coure it wasn’t utilized. Oh well! Also the link with the schedules shows nothing closer than the Hartford region which is silly. If we have to go to Hartford to get a bus to the casino, we may as well drive there ourselves. LOL!
