Update: Ansonia’s Michael Carpinello reports that he brought generators to the house so the Halloween display will that much more awesome!

Original story follows:

The lack of electricity will only add to the creepiness!

Scott Sisbarro’s giant Halloween display will happen tonight at the corner of Jackson and Westfield, even though his neighborhood has been without power since Monday afternoon.

Sisbarro and three pals were painstakingly arranging rotting corpses on his yard Wednesday. The annual show gets about 1,500 trick or treaters every year.

Sisbarro said Superstorm Sandy means he won’t be using things like fog machines, streaming lights and screaming music. The giant black and purple spider will look flaccid this year, too, with no juice to fill its body.

But the tradition must go on.

“Kids are going to come anyway,” regardless of the power situation, he said.

Sisbarro said he’ll park some cars across the street to shed some light on the display.

“This is really scaled down from what we usually do. We’ll put the headlights on and hope for the best,” Sisbarro said.

“Last year, with the snowstorm, I shoveled the snow off my yard and tons of people still showed up,” he said.

I would like to thank Mr Carpinello for bringing his ice cream truck and saving the day.  He asked for nothing in return.  It is nice to know there are nice people in the world.  He was our ” Great Pumpkin”.  Thanks again, Scott
