Oxford Opens Emergency Shelter

The Town of Oxford has opened its emergency shelter at Oxford High School but officials are suggesting residents try to ride out the storm tonight by sheltering in their homes.

Oxford emergency officials are making the distinction to to the large number of roads closed due to downed trees and wires.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, 63 percent of Oxford was without power. That’s 3,343 of 5,276 CL&P customers in Oxford.
