A suspected heroin dealer is behind bars after police raided his apartment on Dwight Street Thursday afternoon.

Clayton Wilson, 24, was the target of a drug investigation carried out by the Ansonia Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit, according to a prepared statement from police.

Police used a search warrant to raid Wilson’s residence at about 2 p.m.

Inside police alleged they found 126 wax paper folds of suspected heroin, 51 grams of cutting agent, a digital scale, and packaging material.

Wilson is charged with possession of a controlled substance, sale of narcotics, misrepresentation of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wilson was also wanted for two probation violations and for failing to appear in court.

He was arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Derby, and was being held on bonds totaling $100,500, according to police.
