Police Probing Dispute, Shooting In Ansonia

A shooting was reported in downtown Ansonia early Sunday (May 24), police said.

No one was injured, but a vehicle with a female in it was struck during the shooting.

The incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on West Main Street near Water Street. 

Some sort of dispute erupted and numerous shots were fired,” Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota, the department’s spokesman, said in an email Tuesday. 

Cota said police are working the case and trying to develop more information on suspects.

He said police will release more details when they are available.
