A 23-year-old man from Shelton was arrested Tuesday on charges he drugged a 15-year-old girl to have sex with her.
The man, Matthew Pelham, faces charges of second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16.
“The arrest stems from a complaint taking in May of this year in which Pelham was accused of giving a 15 year old female narcotics,” Detective Richard Bango said in a prepared statement.
Bango said Pelham drugged the girl, then had sex with her after she became intoxicated in the dugout of a baseball field on Howe Avenue.
Bango said Pelham was held on a $150,000 bond and was due to be arraigned at Superior Court in Derby Tuesday (Oct. 24).
