Popcorn Sunday Love Connection?

At the Valley Indy, we try to report on local government, we try to let you know what’s on fire, and we try to publicize community events.

Today, we’re trying to be Chuck Woolery on Love Connection.”

Here we go:

An Ansonia woman sent us a message through Facebook.

During the Popcorn Sunday” deliveries in Ansonia on Sunday, she noticed a “ really cute” firefighter riding one of the trucks.

For those unfamiliar, Popcorn Sunday” is when Santa and volunteer firefighters drive through the streets on fire trucks, sirens blaring, tossing sticky but delicious popcorn balls to the kiddies. It’s a tradition.

Unspoken sparks apparently flew in Ansonia, because, according to her account, the firefighter gave her his phone number through hand signals.

The communication didn’t work.

She yelled for him to give the number again, but couldn’t hear him. Turns out she has a partial phone number — I messed up the last four digits and I’m bummed,” she said — so she reached out to the Valley Indy for help.

The possible love connection happened near Assumption church. The truck was last seen heading down the hill (toward Main Street and the Eagle Hose station).

The Valley Indy awkwardly offered to pass along the firefighter’s phone number, (assuming you can share some more details with us privately, such as your name) which can be e‑mailed here. (UPDATE: We were contacted by the firefighter!)

Even if he himself doesn’t see (this) post, one of the guys laughing (and) cheering him on might,” she said in a message.

And the public says the media doesn’t carry positive news!

Finally, since we couldn’t find a video of Chuck on Love Connection” saying We’ll be back in two and two,” here’s a video of Chuck from his days hosting Wheel of Fortune:”
