Ansonia Mayor James Della Volpe has scheduled a press briefing for today (Jan. 24) at 2 p.m. in the Aldermanic Chambers in City Hall to announce that the Farrel Complex has been purchased for a major redevelopment.
The Valley Indy is soliciting questions from the public through our Facebook page.
Comprising nearly 400,000 square feet of industrial and office buildings on 10 prime downtown acres, the purchase and sale of the Farrel Complex is one of the largest real estate transactions in the Valley in recent history.
In a second major announcement to be made at the briefing, Mayor Della Volpe is also expected to disclose that the deal will not disrupt the Farrel Company’s ongoing operations in Ansonia, and will keep all Farrel’s office and manufacturing jobs in Ansonia while many of the vacant buildings in the complex are adaptively reused.
Accompanying the Mayor at the press briefing will be Rick Dunne of the Valley Council of Governments, James Burns of Ansonia Real Estate Holdings, the seller of the properties, and Moustapha Diakhate of Connecticut-based Washington Management Company, the buyer, and their respective real estate agents, Alan Fischer of Fischer Commercial Properties of Orange, and Vance Taylor of Commercial Real Estate Group of Torrington.
The Valley Indy reported Sunday the Farrel properties were sold to Washington Management for an undisclosed sum. Click here to read that story.
