Seymour Residents Charged With Stealing Jewelry In Shelton

Shelton police charged a pair of Seymour residents on charges they stole jewelry from a local home.

John Decker, 32, and Erica Teal, 31, were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny Monday (Nov. 24) after police obtained warrants in the case.

In a prepared statement, Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said the arrests stem from a burglary reported to police in October.

The victim reported to police that her residence was forcibly entered during the day and jewelry was stolen,” Kozlwosky said. An investigation by detectives led to the arrest of Decker and Teal. The two arrestees were known to the victim.”

Kozlowsky said both Decker and Teal were being held on $30,000 bonds and are due for arraignment at Superior Court in Derby Tuesday (Nov. 25).
