Shelton police charged a Bridgeport man Monday (July 21) with robbing a Bridgeport Avenue hotel last month.

In a prepared statement, Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said 19-year-old Lancelot Supersad Jr. was charged by police with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny after cops obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Kozlowsky said that on June 26 about 8:15 p.m. police were dispatched to the Residence Inn at 1001 Bridgeport Ave. on a report of a robbery.

SantiagoThe two employees reported to police that two males entered the hotel and displayed a firearm and demanded money,” Kozlowsky’s statement said. The males left the hotel and got into a vehicle with a driver waiting for them.”

No one was injured during the heist, the statement said.

Supersad was being held in lieu of $75,000 bond to be arraigned Tuesday (July 22) at Superior Court in Derby.

He was arrested and posted $50,000 bond earlier this month on charges connected to a July 2 bank robbery in Westport.

Kozlowsky said more arrests are expected in the case.
