Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from last week.

On 07/10/17 at 8:54 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a public service call at #74 Valley Road. The homeowner was having problems with a smoke detector. One engine responded.

On 07/10/17 at 10:34 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to check a home for carbon monoxide at #89 Hillside Avenue. An engine responded.

On 07/10/17 at 6:01 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 north near exit 12. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 07/10/17 at 6:23 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a public service call at #1 Kingswood Manor. A rescue truck responded.

On 07/10/17 at 8:50 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to Lane Street for a tree on power lines. An engine responded.

On 07/11/17 at 7:15 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire in an electrical box on the side of the house at #50 Grey Street. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 07/11/17 at 1:21 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Buddington Road at Grace Lane. An engine responded.

On 07/12/17 at 1:51 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to a report of a brush fire on River Road near Petremont Lane. Firefighters responded but found no fire. Two engines responded.

On 07/12/17 at 6:56 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #27 Whipporwill Drive. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 07/12/17 at 11:27 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Coram Avenue at Fairmont Place. A rescue truck responded.

On 07/13/17 at 01:18 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #40 Beacon Hill Terrace. There was no fire. Two engines and a ladder truck responded.

On 07/13/17 at 04:24 am the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #182 Greenwood Avenue in the Town of Bethel to assist at the scene of a structure fire. A ladder truck responded.

On 07/13/17 at 7:37 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Elizabeth Shelton School #138 Willoughby Road. There was no fire. A faulty detector caused the alarm. One unit responded.

On 07/13/17 at 9:08 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Isinglass Road at Timothy Lane. An engine responded.

On 07/13/17 at 9:11 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle fire on Dimon Road near Martinka Drive. Two engines responded.

On 07/13/17 at 9:19 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Farmer market on Canal Street. There was no fire. The alarm was pulled by accident. A rescue truck responded.

On 07/14/17 at 12:40 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a fire alarm sounding Saint Lawrence Rectory #505 Shelton Avenue. There was no fire. an engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 07/14/17 at 12:53 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue near Long Hill Cross Road. An engine responded.

On 07/14/17 at 2:31 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #10 Phillip Drive for a child locked inside a motor vehicle. A rescue truck responded.

On 07/14/17 at 3:26 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Mohegan Road at Booth Hill Road. One engine responded.

On 07/15/17 at 5:03 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #704 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. one engine and one ladder truck responded.

On 07/15/17 at 7:00 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #188 Rocky Rest Road. There was no fire. an engine and a tower truck responded.
