Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from the last week.

On 08/11/17 at 10:52 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the #2 Enterprise Drive. There was no fire. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.

On 08/12/17 at 1:23 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #25 Cranston Drive. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/12/17 at 4:26 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle fire on route 8 north between exit 13 and exit 12. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.

On 08/13/17 at 6:12 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding in the area of Hill Street and Division Street. The location of the alarm was not found. One unit responded.

On 08/13/17 at 10:47 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a fire alarm sounding at $40 Rock Ridge Road. There was no fire. Two engines and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/13/17 at 4:10 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a lock out at #51 Tuckahoe Drive. A rescue truck responded.

On 08/15/17 at 6:37 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #18 Sharon Drive for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. An engine responded.

On 08/16/17 at 9:39 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a report of a brush fire on Grove Street near Howe Avenue. Firefighters searched the area but found no fire. An engine responded.

On 08/16/17 at 10:47 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at #47 Tuxedo Avenue. One engine responded.

On 08/17/17 at 10:30 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #240 Meadow Street. There was no fire. One engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/17/17 at 11:34 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an odor of natural gas in the area of #20 North Street. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/17/17 at 5:01 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 north bound at exit 12. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 08/17/17 at 5:35 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a live power line down in the road on Huntington Street. The road was shut down until the power line and a tree which struck the wire were removed. One engine responded.

On 08/18/17 at 6:25 am Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at #291 Pheasant Glen Lane. An engine responded.

On 08/18/17 at 3:36 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a residential fire alarm sounding at #40 Harvard Avenue. There was no fire. Two engines and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/18/17 at 4:53 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south between exit 11 and exit 12. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.

On 08/19/17 at 03:35 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Shelton High School #120 Meadow Street. There was no fire. Two engines responded.

On 08/19/17 at 03:39 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at Precision Circuits #155 Myrtle Street. There was no fire. A power outage caused the alarm. One ladder truck responded.

On 08/19/17 at 2:19 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1, Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to smoke in a home at #31 Country Walk. Food cooking caused the alarm. Two engines, a rescue truck and a ladder truck responded.

On 08/19/17 at Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to assist the Stratford Fire Department on the Housatonic River at the site of a two boat accident. 

On 09/19/17 at 7:44 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an illegal open burn at #98 Hill Street. One engine responded.

On 08/20/17 at 11:06 am the Echo Hose Co. #1, White Hills Co. #5and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an odor of natural gas at the Avalon Shelton #185 Canal Street. An engine and two ladder trucks responded.

On 08/20/17 at 2:42 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an illegal open burn at #21 Matilda Lane. An engine responded.

On 08/20/17 at 5:42 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an illegal open burn at #54 Maple Lane. An engine responded.

On 08/20/17 at 6:12 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to fire alarm sounding at #371 Waverly Road. There was no fire. An engine responded.

On 08/21/17 at 01:46 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to assist EMS at #546 Asbury Ridge. An engine responded.
