Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from the last week.

SHELTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT INCIDENT RESPONSES

On 02/12/18 at 6:49 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at Bertucci’s Restaurant at #768 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. Smoke from a furnace caused the alarm. Two engines and a ladder truck responded.

On 02/12/18 at 9:48 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to assist EMS on Route 8 north at exit 12. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/12/18 at 9:50 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Victorian Condos at #384 Howe Avenue. A small fire in a clothes dryer exhaust system in a fourth floor unit caused the alarm. Firefighters ventilated smoke from the building. 

On 02/12/18 at 2:53 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #240 Myrtle Street for a public service call, pump out. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/13/18 at 8:10 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #361 Buddington Road for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/13/18 at 8:52 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Shelton High School #120 Meadow Street. There was no fire. Smoke from a lab experiment on the fourth floor was the cause. A tower truck responded.

On 02/13/18 at 3:10 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 south between exits 14 and 13. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/13/18 at 8:08 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #14 Eagle Drive for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 02/13/18 at 9:42 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 north at exit 12. Two engines and two rescue trucks responded.

On 02/14/18 at 10:14 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #710 Bridgeport Avenue for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. An engine, a ladder truck and a tower truck responded.

On 02/14/18 at 15:27 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #33 Heather Ridge for a public service lockout. An engine responded.

On 02/14/18 at 5:33 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue near the exit 13 on ramp. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/15/18 at 9:18 am the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding from Staples Store at #3 Armstrong Road. There was no fire. Am engine, a ladder truck and a tower truck responded.

On 02/15/18 at 6:55 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex at #187 Meadow Street for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. 

On 02/15/18 at 8:08 pm the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #5 Oak Glen Drive for smoke in the house. 

On 02/16/18 at 11:18 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #48 Sharon Court for smoke in the house. The smoke was caused by a self-cleaning oven operation. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

ON 02/16/18 at 10:17 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Center Stage Theater at #54 Grove Street for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. The alarm was caused by a smoke machine being used during a performance. An engine responded.

On 02/17/16 at 10:57 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at A Childs Garden Day Care at #20 Ivy Brook Lane. There was no fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 02/17/18 at 4:59 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a public service call at #17 Princeton Drive.

On 02/17/18 at 7:35 pm the Echo Hose Co. 31 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Nells Rock Road. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/17/18 at 8:30 pm the Echo Hose Co. 31 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on New Street at West Street. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/17/18 at 8:49 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to Sinsabaugh Heights at #187 Meadow Street for a public service call. An engine responded.

On 02/17/18 at 10:46 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Leavenworth Road at Walnut Tree Hill Road. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/18/18 at 03:09 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to power lines down in the road on Wakelee Avenue near Long Hill Avenue. An engine responded.
