Shelton Man Charged With Public Indecency In Derby

A 62-year-old Shelton man was charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct after allegedly exposing himself at Osbornedale State Park.

John Boswell was arrested Monday by state Environmental Conservation Police, according to a prepared statement. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Derby Aug. 8.

According to the state, someone complained that a man exposed himself and engaged in lewd acts near the upper pavilion in the park off Chatfield Street.

The witness took note of Boswell’s license plate number, according to the statement. The witness was later able to identify Boswell as the perpetrator, according to police.

The date of the incident was not specified in the news release.

Police said Tuesday there have also been recent reports of public indecency at Southford Falls, a state park in Southbury.
