Shelton Police Charge Ansonia Man With Burglaries

Genest

An Ansonia man has been charged with committing two burglaries in Shelton last year.

In a prepared statement, Detective Christopher Nugent said 28-year-old Andre Genest was arrested Wednesday at Superior Court in Derby, where he was due to appear for another matter.

According to court records, the Shelton burglaries occurred on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6.

Genest faces two counts of third-degree burglary and single counts of fifth- and sixth-degree larceny in the cases.

Genest, who has been behind bars since October, also faces burglary and larceny charges lodged by Naugatuck and Fairfield police.

A judge set bond for Genest at $15,000 in the Shelton cases Wednesday and continued them to Jan. 23.
