On Sunday, Jan. 29, St. Michael the Archangel Church in Derby held a concert after the 11:30 a.m. Mass.
The Church was especially proud to welcome Katarzyna Sperczyńska, a vocalist from Poland, who delivered an absolutely beautiful performance.
Katarzyna studied voice, opera, and acting at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, one of the country’s most prestigious institutes.
Katarzyna came to the United States to continue her studies at the New York Film Academy. Her hope is to become either a Broadway actress, or even break into film in Los Angeles.
The Parishioners want to thank Fr. Rafal Kopystynski, Pastor of St. Michael’s, and Fr. Jan Szylar for bringing her to sing for us!
Additionally, an excellent performance was given by Krzysztof Medyna on saxophone.
Krzysztof came to the United States in 1982, and has been performing jazz ever since.
