Summer Reading Block Party June 23 In Ansonia

Students and families in Ansonia are invited to attend a first ever Summer Reading Block Party, which will be held outside of the Ansonia Library on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is June 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free of charge.

This event will feature live entertainment, a petting zoo, face painting, a picnic lunch, and raffles. A backpack, water bottle and summer reading books will be available for Ansonia students. Local organizations which provide services to Ansonia will be on hand to distribute free information.

The Ansonia Library is co-sponsoring the Block Party with the school district, and the library will be open throughout the event for anyone wishing to apply for a library card or tour the library.

Funding for this first-ever event is being provided by the State of Connecticut through grants awarded to Ansonia Public Schools. Additional information about the Block Party, including a line-up of the entertainment, will be released soon. Any questions can be directed to Dorca Rodriguez, Ansonia’s Family Engagement Coordinator, at [email protected] or by calling her at 203 – 736-5095 ×1016.
