There were no injuries after a driver lost control on Route 8 north Monday morning and crashed into a backyard on Mohawk Avenue in Derby.
Derby fire and EMS responded to a report of a rollover just before 9 a.m., near exit 18.
Derby Storms Ambulance and Rescue Corps Chief David Lenart said a man driving a small SUV crashed through a driveway and into the rear yard of 54 Mohawk Ave.
The vehicle flipped over onto its roof, and the driver was out of the SUV when crews arrived on the scene.
The vehicle was about 15 feet off the highway.
“The yards are incredibly close to the highway there,” Lenart said.
State police were on the scene interviewing the driver, who declined medical treatment.
The driver’s name was not immediately available.
As of 10 a.m., a crew from Tracy’s Service Station and Garage in Derby was on Route 8 pulling the vehicle from the yard.
