What’s The Great Give?

The Great Give is a 36-hour online fundraiser. More than 400 nonprofit groups in the Valley and greater New Haven are participating, including the Valley Indy.

The Valley Indy relies on foundation grants and reader donations to stay alive in a dying industry.

The Great Give is the one time of the year we ask you to show your support with a donation.

What’s The Valley Indy Great Give Webcast?

We don’t just beg for money during The Great Give.

We invite other Valley nonprofits onto our live stream out of our office in Ansonia. We talk about all the good those nonprofits do in the Valley — and how you can help.

Those interviews are conducted live and streamed on the Internet.

The live stream will take place primarily on The Valley Indy Facebook page, using Facebook Live.” The videos will also be uploaded after they are recorded to ValleyIndy.org.

Click the play button on the YouTube video below to listen to reporters Eugene Driscoll and Ethan Fry blab on an on about why you should consider making a $100 donation to The Valley Indy during The Great Give.

The Great Give starts 8 a.m. May 2 and ends 8 p.m. May 3.

Here’s the Valley Indy Great Give Webcast schedule, along with prizes” being offered by various sponsors and foundations. Prizes,” if achieved, get more money for the participating nonprofit groups.

In addition, we’ll be doing some random raffles to give away a few limited edition Valley Independent Sentinel coffee mugs.

Remember, the programming will be carried live on The Valley Indy’s Facebook page.

Jason Carlucci, of The Dew Drop Inn in Derby, talks about building a successful business in Derby and the charities that matter most to him.

If we can get someone to donate $300 during Jay’s 30-minute appearance, we’ll allow him to share an embarrassing Valley Indy-related Dew Drop tale from back in the day.

It happens.
