As part of the yearlong “Ansonia 125” celebration, Ansonia’s first “Town-wide Tag Sale” is scheduled to be held on Saturday July 26 between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday July 27.

“Whether you call it a Tag Sale, Yard Sale, or Garage Sale, people just love selling and buying items at a bargain,” says ANSONIA 125 Event Coordinator Melissa Torres.

This gives residents and civic organizations an opportunity to sell some of their unneeded items to bargain-hunters who will be proficiently focused and guided to tag sales throughout Ansonia.

“This event will hold as a tour of the City of Ansonia; while visitors traverse from one sale to another, they can also stop at any of our restaurants for lunch or a sale at any of the variety of local businesses,” stated Torres.

For those who are unable to sell all their unwanted goods at the tag sale, My Sister’s Place, a thrift shop at 380 Main St. will accept your goods as donations via drop-off or pickup.

The city’s transfer station will also be open until 5 p.m. Saturday.

All of its proceeds benefit The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, a program of BHcare. Residents wishing to schedule a pickup should email

Note: Individual Tag Sale hosts have the discretion to open earlier/close later than 2 p.m. The July 27 rain date is at discretion of individual Tag Sale hosts.

A map of locations provided by the event’s organizers is posted below.

Just want to clarify that “all of its proceeds” refers to My Sister’s Place, not the tag sales.
