Valley Chiefs Attend National Law Enforcement Conference

Contributed PhotoSince the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing released its final report in May 2015, the White House has convened events to discuss the task force’s recommendations and broader issues related to police-community relations.

This event was attended by police executives from all over the U.S.

Command staff members of the Derby and Seymour police departments attended the briefing on Advancing 21st Century Policing at the White House on Aug. 16.

Police executives and subject matter experts discussed how to implement the recommendations into everyday practice.

Additionally, they were joined by senior administration officials to brainstorm new ideas about how to enhance public trust and confidence in the justice system while maintaining public safety.
