Valley Remembers Sept. 11 Attacks During Ceremony In Derby

About 200 people lined the Sept. 11 Memorial on the Derby Green Monday during a ceremony to mark the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Speakers included Father Christopher Tiano, Derby Fire Commissioner Michael Kelleher, Mayor Anita Dugatto and state Rep. Linda Gentile.

Sandy James of New Milford sang our National Anthem.

This year’s featured speaker was Vaughn Dumas. He is the assistant chief of the Orange Fire Department and the president of the Connecticut State Firefighters Association.
